Terms & Conditions - Patient Support Grant

Exeter Leukaemia Fund Patient Support Grants are available to patients currently under the care of a Haematologist at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.

Grants of £250 or £500 are available.

Decisions will be made within two weeks of an application being submitted, but will normally be much sooner than that.

Exeter Leukaemia Fund reserves the right to request additional information from the applicant or the person supporting the application in order to support the decision making process.

Exeter Leukaemia Fund will not award a grant to cover the cost of any medication or hospital treatment of any description.

Only one award per household will be made in any given 12-month period.

The money awarded should be used for the sole purpose for which the application was made. Exeter Leukaemia Fund should to be notified in writing should the purpose change.

Exeter Leukaemia Fund will report to the relevant authorities if it suspects that there have been any attempts made to obtain a grant in a fraudulent manner.

Any data collected as part of the application process will be treated in accordance with the Exeter Leukaemia Fund Privacy Policy (elfcharity.org.uk/exeter-leukaemia-fund-privacy-policy). Personal details will not be shared with any third parties.

Exeter Leukaemia Fund will retain within its secured database details of all grant applications made in order to assist with the administration of the programme. Such information will not be disclosed to any third party unless a request is made by an authority entitled to demand the information from the Fund.   

The total number of grants and basic detail (but not identifying information) may be shared by Exeter Leukaemia Fund with the charity’s staff and Board of Trustees and Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital staff for purposes of analysing and improving the programme. The applicant may share information about the grant with any parties of their choice.

The Application Review Panel’s decision is final and Exeter Leukaemia Fund will not enter into any verbal or written discussions should it decide not to award a grant, other than to notify the applicant that they have been unsuccessful.

The Application Review panel will consist of no fewer than three ELF staff members or Trustees.

 All applicants must reside in the United Kingdom and have a UK bank account.

All applicants must be aged 18 years or above. Parents of under-18s may apply on their behalf.
