Exeter's Great West Run 2026

On Sunday 24th May, 14 fundraising heroes tackled the 41st Great West Run in aid of ELF. And it was VERY hot! 

Exeter's famous half marathon is a challenging course, with several unexpected hill climbs when least expected. This year's team consisted of former blood cancer patients, family members and friends of current patients, and some of our corporate supporters from businesses supporting ELF. With temperatures in the high 20's at the beginning of an unseasonably early heatwave in May, it was a gloriously sunny but challenging event for our runners.

This event is always one of our favourites due to the amazing camaraderie between our runners. This year's team did not disappoint, all successfully completing the course with smiles on their faces.

Collectively, the team has raised over £8,500 for ELF. An amazing result from an amazing day! Well done and thank you to you all. 

Alongside our runners, we also had a team of volunteers out on the route assisting at one of the course water stations. An essential role that made all the difference to the five thousand runners going past!
