What a difference a year makes – Sophia’s Story
Last year, ELF made a new friend.
Sophia, who we featured on the cover of our 2022 Impact Report, was diagnosed with leukaemia at just 18 months old. Her family were introduced to ELF by a nurse on Bramble Ward, and we were delighted to offer them support.
It was a difficult time for Sophia’s family, and we were glad to be able to support them. Throughout the year, we got to know the family well as the transport team drove Sophia to and from her appointments. We were also grateful for their support; Sophia’s uncle Craig took part in our spring skydive, and both of Sophia’s parents have been involved in fundraising events.
This year, Sophia is doing really well. She still has a few months of treatment left to go, but is making leaps forward. A few weeks ago we captured her sharing some joyful moments with David, ELF Senior Driver.
Support for patients like Sophia is only possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters. The gifts you make, the volunteering hours you supply and the awareness you raise all ensure we can help patients have the best possible outcomes. Thank you.
