Summer campaign passes half way point

The unreliable weather hasn't stopped the many ELF Cream Teas taking place across the region so far this summer!

We have been delighted with the number of supporters hosting cream tea events. Alongside the many individual events happening in supporter homes and gardens for their loved ones, there have also been several brilliant large scale community cream teas.

The Whimple Young Farmers Club sold 164 cream teas (plus numerous slices of cake) to the people of Whimple and raised a magnificent £850, which is even more impressive when you consider the fact that they picked the wettest Sunday in July to do so! The Beacon Community Centre in Exeter had much more luck with the weather, with their guests enjoying a cream tea in the sunshine in memory of a former member who passed away from blood cancer. Then there was The Horsebox cafe's event in Pinhoe, organised by Tamara and Wiz. This took place during July's heatwave and was strongly supported by the local community, under the much-appreciated shade of the cafe's gazebos!

A huge thank you to everyone who has hosted an ELF Cream Tea so far. After the delay in removing lockdown restrictions, we took the decision to extend our annual campaign across the summer. If you would like to host an event before the 31st August, then there is still time! Please submit your details via our CREAM TEA PAGE and we will send you a free event pack.
