Exeter Leukaemia Fund (Elf) recognises that the COVID-19 outbreak is an exceptional event that will have an impact on the charity.
At present the Elf Citizen Advice Bureau Service is able to be run by telephone and Elf@Home is able to support patients and their families in their home adhering to social distancing rules.
Elf follows the guidelines that the RD & E Hospital has enforced and therefore all hospital based Elf service are cancelled until further notice, that includes transport, counselling, aromatherapy and the filling time kiosk. We do not have a date to reopen.
Elf retail shops will open in August 2020. Donations will be by appointment only.

This will have a devastating impact on Elf's income as Elf does not receive any public or statutory funding. All our services depend on the generosity of the public and Elf own fundraising and retail activities.

Exeter Leukaemia Fund (Elf) is a registered charity providing vital support to patients with blood cancer and other disorders who attend the Haematology Centre at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (RD&E). We:
- Helped fund the building of the Haematology Centre
- Funded the building of a critical care unit at the RD&E's Yarty ward, the Chevithorne family suite
- Provide the Elf flat for Haematology outpatients and families visiting patients staying on Yarty ward
- Fund NHS nurses and support roles
- Provide a range of support services for patients and their families at the RD&E and in their own homes.
Elf receives no public or statutory funding. All our services depend on the generosity of the public and our own fundraising and retail activities.
