When an opportunity came up to become a volunteer, and be part of a new scheme being set up for 'ELF', I knew I had to do it.  I have always wanted to work for a charity, and having lost a very dear friend to Leukaemia, ELF was the charity I wanted to support.

I thoroughly enjoyed my training sessions, which I found very interesting and informative, and where I met some lovely ladies.

I was then very lucky to be placed with a gentlemen who only lives down the road from myself.  We meet up every Friday, and for a few hours we do a lot of talking, go for walks around our local area, and enjoy cups of tea.

He has become a real friend and I feel so happy that he feels he can talk to me, and we can have a giggle together.

We enjoy each other's company, and at the end of each visit, I feel so good that I have helped someone in my local community in some small way, and support such an amazing charity like 'ELF'.
